Looking for a sad anime where main character has to fight his love interest?

yeah i just heard about kaito getting deleted and I'm in a very sad mood so I'm trying to find an old anime i watched but i cant remember what it was. some how the main character's love gets kidnapped and brainwashed to fight for the bad guys i think it ends with one or both of them dieing not sure been awhile. please more than one answer this time and no its not basilisk i've never seen it before.
