The Sims Medieval - blue screen of death!?

My computer is more then capable of handling the game. I've tried a re-install, I've tried lower settings, I've tried with and without the patch and I can't figure it out. It's not during any specific point or after any specific amount of time. It goes black then crashes to the blue screen and restarts my computer. I'm at the point where I want to break the game into itty bitty pieces! So far, I love the game. It'd just be nice to play it, is all! How do I fix this?
